Erebos (Oudgrieks: Ἔρεβος) was de god van de duisternis. Zijn dichte nevels omringden de randen van de platte aarde, en vulden de donkere plaatsen eronder. Zijn zuster Nyx (de nacht) leidde deze donkere sluier elke avond over de aarde, terwijl haar dochter Hemera (de dag) de nacht elke ochtend weer verdreef. Ook zou Erebos de verpersoonlijking zijn van de drie kringen van duisternis rond Tartaros, het dodenrijk.

Erebos (Ancient Greek: Ἔρεβος) was the god of darkness. Its dense mists surrounded the edges of the flat earth, filling the dark places below. His sister Nyx (the night) carried this dark veil over the earth every evening, while her daughter Hemera (the day) drove away the night again every morning. Erebos would also be the personification of the three circles of darkness around Tartaros, the realm of the dead.
